GAUGE
The name Gauge refers to a technical knitting term that measures how many needles per inch are used on a knitting machine. A higher gauge produces a finer, lighter fabric, while a lower gauge creates a chunkier, more textured knit.
Our knitwear is made from 100% wool — designed in Denmark with focus on choosing the right stitch, gauge, tension and yarn for each style. Produced by skilled knitters on a family-owned knitting manufactory in Italy.

The alpaca yarn originates from spinner Michell in Peru. The alpacas breeding in the Peruvian highlands and the entire process from sorting the fibres to dying and spinning is done at Michells own factory and is 100% traceable. The alpaca yarn has following certificates: Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (no of harmful substances for human beings), RAS (Responsible Alpaca Standard)
The merino wool comes Italien spinning mill Biella. The merino originates from various farms in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand or South America. The dying and spinning are done in Europe. The merino yarn has following certificates: Oeko-Tex Standard 100, RWS (Responsible Wool Standard)
All Gauges garments are produced on a family-owned knitting manufactory in Carpi, Italy. The knitting is done on modern Stoll knitting machines, all is knitted “fully fashion” (means knitted in shape) and linked together for giving each garment a good finish and flexible seams. This production method leaves no leftover or cut-offs. The factory uses 100% renewable energy for its production plant and holds a SA8000 certificate.
